The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a network of 172 National Standards Bodies
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) members are the leading
standardization organizations in each country, and each member represents the International Organization for Standardization in its country.
In Greece, the member is the Hellenic Organization for Standardization (ELOT).

MANY LANGUAGES, ONE NAME: ISO
Because the “International Organization for Standardization” would have different acronyms in different languages (IOS in English, OIN in French), the founders chose the abbreviation “iso.” History tells us that iso comes from the Greek word “isos,” which means equal.
Whatever the country, whatever the language, we are always iso.
